Unfiltered Week 5 Heisman Rankings

Another week of College Football and another week of HUGE fucking performances from the top Heisman candidates. Jalen Hurts, Tua, Justin Fields, and Jonathan Taylor all showed the fuck out this week! As of right now there are legitimately 6-8 guys that can win this award, but the next few weeks of match-ups will definitely shape the path to winning the Heisman.

1-Tua Tagovailoa-113/148 Passing, 1,718 Yards, 23 TDs, 0 Ints, 2 Rushing TDs-Tua straight dominated Ole Miss this weekend which helped propel Alabama to the #1 spot in the AP Poll for the first time this year. 418 yards and 6 TDs will also help get you to the number one spot in these Heisman rankings. He is currently 1st in the country in Passing TDs, 2nd in the country in passing yards and 2nd in the country in passer efficiency. He is incredibly accurate and it helps that he has some dynamic WRs to make plays for him. The tests will start coming soon and those games will determine whether or not he will win this award or not.

2-Jalen Hurts-66/85 Passing, 1,295 Yards, 12 TDs, 1 Int, 443 Rushing Yards, 9.4 YPC, 5 Rushing TDs-Jalen came back from the bye and didn’t miss a fucking beat. He came out and dominated TTU going for over 300 in the first half alone and 415 overall to go with 3 TDs. He also added 70 rushing yards and a TD on the day. I mean Jalen is incredible, but if you watched any of this game you know you have to take this stat line with a grain of salt. Texas Tech’s tackling was complete dogshit on Saturday. Nevertheless, Jalen had an incredible day and you can’t put too much emphasis on opponents as most of the top contenders for this award haven’t played anyone yet.

3-Joe Burrow-100/124 Passing, 1,520 Yards, 17 TDs, 2 Ints, 1 Rushing TDJoe was on top of this list last week and for good fucking reason. Being on a bye though, hurts your current spot. All these other guys were padding stats with huge performances this week and Joe could not help himself. Keep in mind these rankings are as if the award was being given out today! Joe will have plenty of chances to move back up the list with some huge games in October and November.

4-Justin Fields-81/116 Passing, 1,092 Yards, 16 TDs, 0 Ints, 222 Rushing Yards, 7 Rushing TDs-Justin had himself a fucking day in what many thought would be a big conference game. Well it was just a fucking blowout thanks to OSU’s defense and of course, Justin’s performance. Fields threw for 212 yards and 3 TDs, and added 72 rushing yards and a rushing TD for the Buckeyes. He has not racked up the yards like some of the other guys but he continues to rack up TDs week in and week out. 2 of their next 3 are against ranked opponents and Fields will either solidify his spot in this race or take himself out of it during this stretch.

5-Jonathan Taylor-84 Rushes, 559 Yards, 8 TDs, 85 Receiving Yards, 3 TDs-Last week Taylor was out of my top 5 because a RB really has to have an incredible season to win this award. Well Taylor is currently having one of those seasons, but it does not help that all of the QBs in front of him are on ridiculous paces in their own right. Wisconsin being undefeated also helps his case in being over a guy like Chuba Hubbard who may actually be having a better season than Taylor. Both of these guys will be mainstays in this conversation for most of the year, but they will really need the QBs to drop off to make a run at it.

Honorable Mentions

Chuba Hubbard-RB-Oklahoma State

Sam Ehlinger-QB-Texas

JK Dobbins-RB-Ohio State

Jamie Newman-QB-Wake Forest

Justin Herbert-QB-Oregon

All 10 of these guys, plus maybe even a few more have a legitimate shot at winning this award as of right now. It is going to be so fucking entertaining to watch it all unfold over the next couple of weeks!
