Iowa St. Avoids Huge Upset at Hands of FCS Team

Every single year teams start their seasons off with tuneup games. These big schools pay small FCS schools to come in and get blown the fuck out.

Well Northern Iowa did not get that memo as they took 21st ranked Iowa St. to 3 OTs and by all accounts should have won the game. They were outplayed for most of the game being outgained by 200 yards, but they made the plays they needed when they needed to. It looked like they might actually pull the upset until ISU put together a 17 play drive to kick the game tying FG with a minute left.

The teams traded FGs in OT1 and traded TDs in OT2, but ISU scored a TD in OT3 as UNI could only muster a FG as they had the ball first.

UNI was looking to become just the 5th FCS team to beat a ranked FBS team this century. The last time this happened was when North Dakota St. upset #13 Iowa in 2016, and who could forget Appalachain St. upsetting #5 Michigan in 07. Every college football fan rejoiced that day as Michigan’s fall from relevance began on that day and lasted for almost 10 years!

Iowa St. escapes fuckin embarrassment with a win today, but they will not make it far in the Big 12 if they continue to perform like this. They better get their shit together or it is going to be a long fucking season for the Cyclones!
